Wilderness Wonders

The moose is the largest member of the deer family, and is a unique creature with huge antlers, large feet, an oblong head, and spindly legs. It is a prize for hunters that can prove to be quite unpredictable! There was a situation in which two hunters were driving a truck along a dirt road and came across a bull moose standing in the way. The driver decided to honk the horn in order to startle the animal in hopes of making it move. Instead, the animal bashed the radiator with his rack! The moose is a huge and powerful animal whose spindly legs stabilize it in snow or water. It is even able to swim in swift water and run up to 45 mph. Evolution cannot explain the uniqueness of the moose, but creation can. The Bible tells us that He made animals to reproduce "after their kind" (Genesis 1:25) God uniquely designed the moose as part of the deer "kind" and it has no relationship to another kind of animal. With the moose, there is no room for evolutionary change over long ages of time.
