Jeff's parents

Jeff & Heather Setzer were both saved at the age of eight. They attended conservative Christian colleges and were married in 1993 at their home church, Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Hickory, NC. In 1994, they accepted an assistant pastorate at Faith Baptist Church in Shelbyville, TN and served there for more than three years in areas of music, children's, and youth ministry. While there, they were involved part time during the summer in itinerant youth evangelism. It was during these years that they heard an evangelist speak about creationism and they began to desire to reach young people with that subject. After serving in an assistant pastorate, they traveled with an evangelist as "missionaries to young people" ministering in music, children's ministry, and home schooling. During this time, they continued to develop a summmer VBS ministry. After two years of service with an evangelist, they entered full time missionary evangelism helping churches with VBS, revival meetings, "Creation Sundays," mission projects, teacher training, music ministry, youth ministry, and a children's creation club.
